Our online continuing education courses are generally series of modules that take place over a specified period on a specific day of the week (e.g. 5 consecutive Wednesdays from 5–7 p.m.). However, individual lectures or lectures integrated into modules are also offered. The exact format, weekdays, and times can be found in the details of each individual continuing education course.

For online events, participants are responsible for ensuring before registration that they have the necessary technical requirements (in particular a stable internet connection, camera, microphone, and up-to-date software).
A refund of the participation fee due to missing technical requirements on the participant’s side is excluded, provided that the institute properly provides the online event.

The in-person modules generally take place from Friday to Sunday at the Atelierhaus on Campus II of Alanus University of Arts and Social Sciences. However, some continuing education courses are also held in seminar rooms or at specific continuing education locations outside our university, such as at Filderklinik in Filderstadt (music therapy in a palliative context) or during our popular in-person week in Barcelona (LOM®/POM).

As an introduction and for orientation, we once again offer introductory online lectures for many of our programs. These can be booked separately and independently of the continuing education course.

You will receive proof of attendance for participating in a continuing education course.

Many modular continuing education courses can also be completed with a certificate. Proof of achievement is always required in order to obtain a certificate.
Some modules are awarded ECTS credits upon submission of a written paper, which can be credited toward degree programs.
Some continuing education courses are also recognized by professional associations (e.g. BVAKT).

Participants are advised, where appropriate, to take out seminar or cancellation insurance. An insurance contract is concluded exclusively between the participants and the respective insurance provider.

We point this out because it happens time and again that participants have to cancel a booked event at short notice for serious reasons.

Our continuing education courses are planned for a small number of bindingly registered participants and are calculated accordingly. Therefore, we can no longer deviate from the cancellation conditions set out in the terms of participation, even if the reasons given are often very understandable.

For this reason, we recommend that you consider whether you would like to take out seminar or
cancellation insurance. We cannot make specific recommendations regarding particular providers.
