Eurythmy in English
Master of Arts

Eurythmists have the opportunity to specialize in one of the following areas; the assignments and projects are tailored to the respective field in each case:

• Eurythmy Therapy
• Eurythmy in Education and as Social Art

This Master’s program aims to deepen eurythmic skills, foster competencies in education and the arts, and develop the ability to conduct qualitative research in the field of eurythmy that is relevant and inspiring for students. Students take part in master classes led by a range of highly experienced eurythmists, acquire knowledge of qualitative research methods, develop writing and presentation skills, and attend stimulating lectures by recognized experts from the fields of education and the arts.

Some core aspects of the course are:

• An individual approach to assignments with context-related projects
• Practical training and study for prospective teachers as well as advanced research for experienced teachers
• A focus on individual artistic development
• Encouragement to explore eurythmy in a contemporary context, with a focus on the challenges and opportunities in today’s classroom and society
• An emphasis on mutual learning and the exchange of individual research questions and insights
• An international outlook that is attentive to diverse cultural contexts
• Building a creative relationship with language, fostering oral and written self-expression, and thereby strengthening self-confidence
• Engaging with the process, appropriating the content of eurythmy, and developing a professional attitude

The Master Eurythmy Education/Social Art is a two-year online degree program, with the final year dedicated to the Master’s thesis. The next course begins in September 2026.

The Master Eurythmy Therapy is a two-year on-site course consisting of five four-week blocks with doctors and eurythmy therapists who are experts in their respective fields, supplemented by two weeks of online lectures. In the final year, you complete the required practical hours and submit your Master’s thesis, which takes the form of a case study. The next course with a specialization in Eurythmy Therapy begins in March 2027.

Loans and scholarships
Students from the UK can apply for a loan from the Godparents Anthroposophical Training Fund.

Alanus University offers various options for the Master’s degree program in Eurythmy, depending on the qualifications you already have. Applicants for the English-language Master’s degree program at Alanus University must hold a eurythmy diploma recognized by the Section for Performing Arts at the Goetheanum.

Students should have an adequate command of English.

Certificate courses
For those who are not seeking an academic degree, there is an opportunity to collaborate on selected productions and projects. This offer is intended for eurythmists seeking artistic activity in connection with stage work; completion can be certified with a university certificate.
