Shaping the future professionally and personally with a degree in Early Childhood Education
The Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education with a focus on reform pedagogy is a practice-oriented and well-founded degree program for anyone seeking a meaningful career with diverse responsibilities and wishing to accompany children on their journey.
In the Bachelor’s program in Early Childhood Education at Alanus University, both the students and the child are at the center. Theory and practice are combined throughout the program so that content can be experienced directly and tested in projects. Small groups and modern teaching methods promote academic, creative, and personal development. Intensive engagement with various educational approaches and their related disciplines such as psychology or sociology, as well as reform pedagogy approaches – especially Waldorf education – opens up new perspectives and paths for our students.
Thanks to our study structure with only three university days per week (Monday to Wednesday), there is the option of studying with a practice partner – similar to a dual study program. The degree program is also offered as a part-time degree program.

Die Alanus Hochschule war für mich weit mehr als nur ein Ort des Lernens – sie bot mir einen Raum, in dem ich als ganze Person wahrgenommen wurde und der mich ermutigte, über den Tellerrand hinauszuschauen. Besonders wertvoll waren der Austausch in kleinen Gruppen sowie die persönliche und vertrauensvolle Begleitung durch die Dozent:innen. Wer sich nicht als Matrikelnummer verlieren will, sondern fachlich wie persönlich wachsen möchte, findet hier einen einzigartigen Ort zum Lernen und Werden.

Die abwechslungsreiche Methodenauswahl, das Lernen in kleinen Gruppen mit Menschen aus unterschiedlichsten pädagogischen Arbeitsfeldern und verschiedensten Erfahrungshintergründen sowie einer gut durchmischten Altersstruktur trugen sehr dazu bei, sich mit individuellen Charakteren, Lerntypen und Persönlichkeiten auf einer fachlichen und persönlichen Ebene auseinanderzusetzen. So konnte ich meine soziale als auch emotionale Kompetenz im Bereich der Teamarbeit/Selbstorganisation weiter entwickeln, wovon ich beruflich als auch privat profitiert habe.

An der Alanus Hochschule werden Studierende als individuelle, neugierige und kooperative Menschen wahrgenommen. Durch vielerlei Projekte und Engagement ist es den Studierenden in enger Zusammenarbeit mit den Lehrkräften möglich, die Zukunft des Studiengangs gemeinsam zu gestalten. Prozesse und Wandel werden so transparent und Partizipation gelebt. Das Wohlergehen der Studierenden ist jeder Lehrkraft wichtig. Für Fragen, Sorgen und Anliegen haben sie stets ein offenes Ohr.

Besonders die Menschen an der Alanus – die Achtsamkeit, Offenheit und ehrliche Begleitung sowie der Dialog auf Augenhöhe – haben mich wachsen lassen. Ich habe nicht nur meinen pädagogischen Blick geschärft, sondern auch meine eigene Haltung weiterentwickelt und Vertrauen in meinen Weg gewonnen. Der ganzheitliche Blick auf den Menschen ist für mich nicht nur ein Studieninhalt, sondern eine innere Überzeugung, die mein berufliches Handeln bis heute trägt. Ich werde die Zeit an der Alanus nie vergessen und bin stets dankbar für die tollen Erfahrungen, die ich sammeln durfte.

Man ist an der Alanus nicht nur einfach ein:e Studierende:r, sondern ein Mensch mit Stärken und Schwächen. Jede:r wird dort abgeholt, wo jede:r gerade steht und so begleitet, wie er oder sie es benötigt und das immer in allen Bereichen, freundlich, wertschätzend, motivierend. Ich habe einen großen Strauß an Möglichkeiten geboten bekommen, um mich persönlich wie auch fachlich weiterzuentwickeln. Dabei standen mir die Dozent:innen stets mit Rat und Tat zur Seite, hatten immer ein offenes Ohr und boten Unterstützung an.

Die Alanus Hochschule ist ein Ort, an dem die Studierenden in Kleingruppen praxisnah lernen können. Hier kann man über sich hinauswachsen und seine Persönlichkeit weiterentwickeln. Das Bachelorstudium Kindheitspädagogik vermittelte nicht nur fundierte pädagogische Theorien, sondern eröffnet ebenso wertvolle Einblicke in die praktische Arbeit mit Kindern. Dank dieser Fähigkeiten gelang mir ein erfolgreicher Einstieg ins Berufsleben, in dem ich mein Wissen vielseitig einbringen und weiterentwickeln konnte.

Lange Zeit habe ich überlegt, welcher Studiengang der richtige für mich sein wird. Denn das Gefühl, beruflich noch nicht angekommen zu sein, wo ich sein wollte, machte sich immer wieder bemerkbar. Da der Studiengang auch als Teilzeitstudium angeboten wird, hatte ich die Möglichkeit, weiterhin in der Kindertagesstätte tätig zu sein und mich im Gegenzug weiterzubilden.

Hier habe ich gelernt, wie wichtig es ist, mit sich selbst in Reflexion zu gehen und Verhaltensweisen zu hinterfragen. Das ermöglicht mir jetzt einen wertschätzenden Umgang sowohl mit den Eltern und der Kita als auch mit meinem Team. Zum anderen merke ich nun in der Praxis, wie wertvoll die Erfahrungen der Praktika sind. Außerdem kann ich nun Wissen aus Modulen wie beispielsweise „Medienpädagogik“ oder „Entwicklungspsychologie“ anwenden. Das Gefühl, sein erlerntes Wissen tatsächlich in der Praxis umsetzen zu können, erfüllt mich mit sehr viel Stolz und Motivation.

Das Studium an der Alanus Hochschule war für mich mehr als eine akademische Weiterbildung – es war eine Reise zu mir selbst. Ich habe nicht nur Fachwissen erworben, sondern auch Mut, Selbstvertrauen und innere Stärke entwickelt. Aufgaben, die mir früher zu groß erschienen, konnte ich plötzlich mit Leichtigkeit übernehmen. Rückblickend habe ich das Gefühl, durch das Studium nicht nur fachlich, sondern vor allem auch innerlich gewachsen zu sein.

Alanus University is a private university and receives no public funding whatsoever. It must therefore finance itself entirely through tuition fees and donations from supporters and charges tuition fees to its students. The current fees are summarized here.
To make studying at Alanus University accessible to a broad range of prospective students nevertheless, Alanus students have access to a whole շարք of partly exclusive scholarships that are regularly advertised. In addition, our students are eligible for scholarships from private foundations as well as the Deutschlandstipendium. BAföG, student loans, and education funds complete the range of options.
