Music Therapy
Master of Arts / Part-time
Discover the healing power of music with a degree in music therapy
“All music is born in the human heart.”
(Lü Buwei, Chinese philosopher, ca. 300 BC)
Music has a direct effect on our emotions and the associated mental and physical well-being. In this way, it opens up a world of sound and experience capable of touching us on every level. It influences and supports physical well-being, stimulates healing, and has a relieving and balancing effect. The formative principles of music, such as concentration and expansion, stillness and movement, heaviness and lightness, mirror the polar principles of human beings and their environment.
Through its resonance, music connects the self and the world, thereby creating communication and connection beyond language, across boundaries. Creative access to one’s own thoughts and feelings helps patients process their illness, experience new perspectives, and regain strength and courage for life.
