The Master’s degree program in Education / Practice Research is aimed at anyone working in an educational, social, or therapeutic field who would like to deepen their existing knowledge. Grounded in academic scholarship, students acquire the expertise they need to advance educational quality development. At the same time, the degree program strengthens research skills, reflective capacity, and analytical understanding for new professional opportunities.
At the heart of the Master’s degree program Practice Research in Educational, Therapeutic, and Social Professional Fields is the acquisition of fundamental academic methods and the gradual development and implementation of research projects. Through this professionalization, our students open up career prospects in leadership, consulting, evaluation, and the responsible further development of educational institutions and offerings, in quality management, as well as for teaching activities. This means the Master’s degree in Education / Practice Research offers working professionals from social and therapeutic fields the opportunity for individual professional development. At the same time, it prepares them for a career in academia or research.
Within the framework of the Bologna Process, we also offer the degree program with the option of admission to the Master’s program on the basis of bachelor-equivalent qualifications.

Ich habe mich für das Studium entschieden, weil ich nach vielen Jahren im Beruf Forschungsmethoden erlernen möchte, um die Wirkung meines Tuns rund um Organisationsgestaltung und Zusammenarbeit systematisch zu überprüfen. Das Studium erlebe ich als eine inspirierende Kombination aus praxisnaher und methodisch anspruchsvoller Einführung in die Praxisforschung mit zusätzlichen Einblicken in Philosophie, künstlerische Praxis und eine tiefgründige-kritische Auseinandersetzung mit den Inhalten der Waldorfpädagogik. Es herrscht eine Lernatmosphäre auf Augenhöhe und viel Raum zum Experimentieren und Einbringen der eigenen Fragen.

Das Besondere während meines Studiums an der Alanus Hochschule waren die Begegnung mit den Professor:innen und die gemeinsame Zeit mit den Studierenden. Das Umfeld hat mich darin unterstützt, neue Stärken zu entdecken, mein Leben mit einem anderen Blick zu betrachten und zu wachsen. Ich habe auch gelernt, den Herausforderungen aus meinem Berufsfeld kreativ und künstlerisch zu begegnen und die passenden Lösungsansätze zu kreieren.

Das berufsbegleitende Studium Praxisforschung mit Schwerpunkt Erwachsenenbildung ist für mich als Kindergärtnerin eine große Bereicherung. Hier wachsen Wissen, Herz und Gemeinschaft – ein Ort, an dem Bildung lebendig wird.

Auf dem Weg zur Alanus Hochschule bemerke ich – je näher ich komme – eine leise Vorfreude auf das, was mich erwartet: Ein persönlich-warmer Austausch mit den Dozent:innen, das vertrauensvolle, herzliche Gespräch mit den Studierenden, die besonnene Atmosphäre, in der sich sorgfältig gewählte, wissenschaftlich fundierte Gedankengänge entwickeln können, tragen maßgeblich dazu bei. Suche ich einen reflektiert-kritischen Diskurs über Anthroposophie, kann ich dies an der Alanus Hochschule finden.

Swantje Peter and Cornelia Ruhnau studied the part-time Master’s degree program in Practice Research at Alanus University. After graduating, Swantje Peter began a doctorate at Humboldt University of Berlin and is researching participation in the classroom in the graduate program Inclusion – Education – School. After completing the Master’s degree program, Cornelia Ruhnau founded the association Lernen und Leben Ennepetal/Dortmund. In the clip, the two talk about their work, offer personal insights, and explain how the degree program shaped them.

Alanus University is a private university and receives no public funding whatsoever. It must therefore be financed entirely through tuition fees and donations from supporters, and it charges students tuition fees. The current fees are summarized here.
To make studying at Alanus University accessible to a broad range of prospective students nevertheless, Alanus students have access to a whole շարք? In addition, our students are eligible for scholarships from private foundations as well as the Deutschlandstipendium. BAföG, student loans, and education funds round out the range of options.
