Stage Eurythmy
Master of Arts

The following course sequence refers to the one-year full-time program. In the part-time program, the content can be spread across a total of four semesters.

Module 1: Solo Work
Introduction to concept development, practical exercises, rehearsals, mentoring.

Module 2: Directing, Choreography, Rehearsal Direction
Introduction to concept development, practical exercises, rehearsal work, performance.

Module 3: Ensemble Work
Introduction to the project concept/practical exercises/rehearsal work, performances.

Module 4: History of Eurythmy in the Context of Dance History and Aesthetics
Foundations of aesthetics in art, with a focus on dance/eurythmy/movement arts; foundations of the history of artistic eurythmy in the context of dance history, with a focus on the 20th century.

Module 5: Directing/Choreography Assistance/Observation
Participation in a stage project from its inception to the realization of the performance with adults and/or with young people/schoolchildren, as an observer and/or assistant.

Module 6: Anthroposophical Spiritual Science, Eurythmy Studies, Social Science
Seminar-based and practice-oriented work.

Module 7: Supplementary Artistic Subjects
In this module, experience is gained in various related artistic and movement disciplines. The acquired skills are related to eurythmy and reflected upon.

Module 8: Master’s Thesis
Solo evening performance or equivalent, presentation, written documentation and reflection, colloquium.

Module 9: Practical Phases

At the heart of the degree program is the development of eurythmic-performative skills. The program offers space to realize one’s own plans and concerns, to challenge oneself, and to be supported through guidance and mentorship. In the projects, students practice their ability to reflect on artistic activity and seek their place in society as stage artists. Interdisciplinarity and the search for dialogue are integral parts of the program – whether in schools, on cabaret stages, or in the street.

The basic requirements for admission are a completed Eurythmy degree from a recognized training institution (Eurythmy diploma from the Section for the Performing Arts/Goetheanum), an academic Bachelor of Arts degree, and a successful admission interview.

International applicants must have sufficient proficiency in German, both spoken and written. Proof of language proficiency may be submitted during the course of the first academic year. Information is available from the International Office.

Admission:
After an initial information or advising session, we will invite you to an admission interview. A successful admission interview is the prerequisite for enrollment.
