Study in Alfter and gain professional experience in the Bornheim city administration: Starting in the autumn semester, this opportunity will be open to students in the Architecture master's degree program. Alanus University and the City of Bornheim have agreed on a cooperation for the joint training of architects.

Starting in the coming autumn semester, the City of Bornheim will provide one student with a practical placement for the two-year master’s degree program and will finance his or her studies at Alanus University. Professor Willem-Jan Beeren is pleased about the collaboration in the immediate vicinity of the university: “The City of Bornheim is an important partner for the university; together, through this cooperation, we are making a valuable educational contribution to our region.”

The prospective architect gains practical experience one day a week at Bornheim Town Hall and studies on campus in Alfter four days a week during the semester. In his or her study projects, the student works on current issues and planning tasks of the City of Bornheim, thereby making a directly applicable contribution to the cooperation partner. Interested applicants can contact the Department of Architecture (architektur@alanus.edu). The department provides information about the application process. Applications are being accepted immediately through the end of July.

After the state capital Düsseldorf, the district town of Bergheim and Elsdorf , Bornheim is the fourth municipality in North Rhine-Westphalia to offer such a cooperation with Alanus University in the sense of a dual study program.
