Staged special education encounters between early childhood educators and children and adolescents with disabilities of different age groups
Academic research into various opportunities for encounters and forms of special education interaction.
This project is aimed at students of early childhood education who have had no or only very limited contact in their everyday lives with children or adolescents with special support needs. For this reason, opportunities for encounters between the students and children and adolescents are staged by the project leader in the form of observations in special education institutions or participation in children’s conferences.
The quality of the encounters and the course of the students’ interactions with the children and adolescents with special support needs whom they have met are determined and evaluated using qualitative research methods. These include descriptions of emotional states, narrative interviews, experience-oriented painting activities, and diagnostic case analyses.
