eneebler – Enabling the energy transition in companies

Two thirds of final energy consumption in Germany are attributable to companies or public-sector institutions. If the energy transition is to succeed, companies must significantly advance the expansion of renewable energies (RE) and the improvement of energy efficiency. Relevant decisions and strategies are initiated by company management on the one hand. On the other hand, there are also cases in which employees—for example, those who are committed to renewable energies outside the company—drive RE projects within companies. Such employee initiatives have so far received too little support in research and practice. The perspective still prevailing here is that employees must be convinced of sustainable action and guided by managers. By contrast, the “enEEbler” project assumes that many employees are committed to the environment and renewable energies, but do not bring this interest into their daily work. The project results are summarized in two practical guides, which are available for download.
