Collage in Art Therapy

The online modules offered here present various artistic and art therapy methods, interventions, and their indications as well as contraindications. The theoretical background, forms of application, and case studies from the speakers’ professional practice convey the distinctive approach of each art therapy method. Through self-experience exercises, participants can deepen these approaches and complement and round them out through comparisons with their own practical experience.

Art therapists with a successfully completed university degree, a comparable qualification, or suitable professional experience. Interested individuals from related professional fields may also participate in individual modules.

Students of artistic therapies are also very welcome – you can deepen and differentiate your knowledge by attending this continuing education program during your studies and use acquired university certificates in applications. Students of Alanus University have the opportunity to book the continuing education program at special rates (see below).

For students of Alanus University, we would like to enable participation in continuing education programs at a 50% discount. An individual quota is available for each continuing education program. University certificates are excluded from the discount.

A university certificate can be obtained. This requires additional work, e.g. in the form of an essay, portfolio, case documentation, method development, learning journal, etc.
For this continuing education program, a case presentation must be prepared as an essay with approx. 3 pages of text and 2–3 pages of photo documentation.

Prof. Dr. Alexandra Hopf is an art therapist and artist. She heads the degree program in Art Therapy at the Dresden Academy of Fine Arts. Previously, she was Professor of Intermedial Art Therapy at MSH Hamburg. Her art therapy focus areas are practice- and art-based perspectives, phenomenology, intermediality and aesthetics in art therapy, as well as embodied forms of knowledge and artistic research in the field of art therapy. She has researched collage for many years in both artistic and art therapy contexts.
