University continuing education with certificate with Prof. Dr. Alexandra Hopf
In collage, fragments from different contexts are brought together. They can be composed from visual, poetic-linguistic, sonic-musical, spatial-sculptural, and performative material. By combining disparate materials, incidental and everyday elements can become something interesting and valuable. Everyday life can be seen differently, making new perspectives possible. At the same time, the abundance of material can be challenging and can be managed through reduction and simplification.
The intersections of these perspectives point to collage-specific factors of perception and experience that become effective in art therapy. The therapeutic effectiveness of collage in art therapy is nourished by the special qualities of collage practice.
This is vividly conveyed through short lectures and interventions in art therapy, artistic practice, partner exercises, and shared discourse.
