Artistic practice and processes in key business topics.

What does art have to do with business? We mostly know art from museums and our leisure time. We look at it and enjoy it. What would happen if art entered companies and became active and effective there? If artistic practice and processes contributed to and helped shape key business topics and challenges. The future skills in demand are part of everyday artistic practice: perceptive ability, competence in dealing with complexity and shaping processes, and the productive handling of polycrises. In a future-oriented economy, we need core competencies from the arts, whether co-creation, an integrative approach, trust in processes, or imagination.

In the modules of this certificate program, artistic action in a business context is explored on the one hand through the means of art: drama education addresses team development topics, installations test new process workflows, drawing engages with images of sustainability, and painting explores the open process. On the other hand, art opens up courageous spaces for thought and imagination for the further development of business and companies, which we explore and test together: What if business could be done differently?!

The certificate “Art Processes in Companies” is creditable toward the master’s degree program “Business Administration – Shaping a Sustainable Economy” at Alanus University.

This continuing education program offers a unique combination of academic rigor, practical relevance, and methodological diversity. Aesthetic processes and artistic methods provide targeted support for a holistic, subject-specific education by making blind spots, unconscious knowledge, and non-cognitive processes accessible to participants as a basis of knowledge.
