Creating new perspectives with artistic impulses and becoming a changemaker of tomorrow.
Art modules are an integral part of the business studies program at Alanus University. Why? “Artistic methods help us perceive and understand better. Through the art projects, our students become more alert and attentive. But they also learn to think beyond their own company and to take responsibility for the consequences of their actions within the larger system,” says business administration professor Susanne Blazejewski. In addition, our students naturally receive comprehensive training in economics and business studies.
Our alumnus Silvin Faulstich also benefited greatly from the artistic processes in his studies: “The art modules showed me ways to find alternative perspectives on familiar issues, how to put on a different pair of glasses or slip into a different role. I benefit from these experiences – especially in professional life, for example in strategic decisions or in working with my team.”
The art modules are very diverse. Our students attend courses such as drawing, painting, sculpture, bodywork, and acting. “Don’t worry – you don’t need any special artistic talent for this. However, anyone who wants to study with us should be willing to embrace new experiences,” says art lecturer Anne von Hoyningen-Huene.
