A well-known saying goes that life is too short to learn German. Completely wrong! In his new non-fiction book “German – A Declaration of Love” (2022, Piper Verlag), Roland Kaehlbrandt uses ten appealing and tangible advantages to show how well the German language is actually constructed and how accessible it therefore is. Clear, informative, and humorous, the Professor of Language and Society at Alanus University of Arts and Social Sciences takes us on a journey through the endearing and useful qualities of our old yet highly vibrant language.
The event will be moderated by his colleague Professor Sascha Liebermann, Head of the Institute for Philosophical and Aesthetic Education. Before the audience has a chance to speak, students, including some from the degree program “Philosophy, Art and Social Transformation”, will comment on the book from their perspective.
