Alanus University presents exciting young art at the “Rundgang Fine Arts 2025” from 20 to 22 June.

How do young artists respond to a world in upheaval? What individual perspectives do they develop in the face of rapid social change? Creative answers to these questions are offered by “Rundgang Fine Arts 2025”, which takes place from 19 to 22 June at Alanus University of Arts and Social Sciences. This traditional annual exhibition showcases the strongest current final and semester projects by students of the Fine Arts, Art-Education-Therapy, performArt and Architecture degree programmes. Visitors can look forward to a broad spectrum of exciting young art – from painting and installation to AI-generated visual worlds and performances.

Opening, Rundgang Awards & Meet the Artists

The Rundgang opens on Thursday, 19 June, at 6 p.m. with Rector Prof. Dr. Thomas Maschke and Prof. Johannes Brunner, Dean of the Department of Fine Arts. As part of the opening with the graduates, the Rundgang Awards for the best artistic works within the Rundgang will also be presented in cooperation with the General-Anzeiger Bonn. The exhibition will then be open from 20 to 22 June on Campus I – Johannishof daily from 12 noon to 8 p.m. As part of public guided tours through the studios, visitors will have the opportunity to talk with the artists and learn more about their work. The idyllic location by the Kottenforst nature reserve and the panoramic view from the terrace of the Alanus Café also make the Rundgang a worthwhile excursion destination. A food truck will provide visitors with tasty snacks. Admission to the exhibition is free.

A regional highlight for art enthusiasts

The tradition of Rundgänge at art academies has a long history in Germany dating back to the 19th century. Renowned art academies such as the Kunstakademie Düsseldorf have been organising such Rundgänge for many decades. Alanus University, too, has joined this tradition in recent years and established the “Rundgang Fine Arts” as a highlight in the calendar of the region’s art and cultural scene. “For our art students, the ‘Rundgang’ is without question a special highlight of their studies,” explains Johannes Brunner. “It is always wonderful to see how our students have developed into confident artists and how, in their final projects, they bring their individual artistic standpoint and style into clear focus. We are proud to present this excellent selection of artistic work to the public once a year and to engage in dialogue with visitors!”
