Cooperation with the PollerWiesen Festival

Students of Alanus University are designing a festival stage for the PollerWiesen Festival 2025 – innovative and sustainable

On 26 April 2025, the PollerWiesen Festival will take place at Jugendpark in Cologne. Art students from Alanus University of Arts and Social Sciences in Alfter near Bonn are making a creative contribution by designing an additional stage.

Music festivals face the challenge of balancing their high energy demands with greater sustainability. By designing an additional stage, art students from Alanus University are not only making a creative contribution to the PollerWiesen Festival 2025. In creating the innovative stage, they combine a technoid industrial look with the sustainable use of materials. 

From the first sketch to the final assembly, the entire implementation was in the hands of the students. The materials used include construction scaffolding, recycled metal and polycarbonate – materials that create a backdrop that is as raw as it is impressive, perfectly suited to the high-energy sounds that define the festival. With room for up to 5,000 guests, the stage on the banks of the Rhine will become a platform for a day full of electronic music, pulsating basslines and exuberant festival atmosphere.

Since the 1990s, the PollerWiesen Festival has been a firmly established institution in Cologne’s electronic music scene and has thrilled audiences in the past with renowned DJs such as Sven Väth and Paul Kalkbrenner. Alanus University is delighted to make a creative contribution to the regional cultural scene with this project – and warmly invites everyone to experience PollerWiesen 2025 in a new atmosphere.
