Kunst-und-Bau-Projekte am Neubau Biomedizinisches Zentrum II der Universitätsklinik Bonn im Rahmen der Kooperation der Universität Bonn mit der Alanus Hochschule für Kunst und Gesellschaft Alfter
Die Universität Bonn und die Alanus Hochschule arbeiten zusammen daran, die Themen und Inhalte der Exzellenzcluster der Universität zum Gegenstand verschiedener künstlerischer Auseinandersetzungen zu machen. Unter dem Stichwort „Wissenschaftskommunikation“ verfolgen die Partner das Ziel, durch die Mittel und Möglichkeiten der Kunst ein weiteres Medium des gesellschaftlichen Dialogs zu eröffnen und eine breite öffentliche Wahrnehmung zu erzielen. Für das Exzellenzcluster „immunosensation2“ im Neubau des Biomedizinischen Zentrums II am Universitätsklinikum Bonn wird die Alanus Hochschule, vertreten und verantwortet durch Prof. Willem-Jan Beeren (FB Architektur) und Prof. Paul Jonas Petry (FB Bildende Kunst) im Zeitraum von 2022 bis 2023 mehrere für den Standort entwickelte Kunst-und-Bau-Projekte durchführen und an dieser Stelle prozessbegleitend dokumentieren:
Art-and-Architecture projects at the new building of the Biomedical Centre II of the University Hospital Bonn as part of the cooperation between the University of Bonn and the Alanus University of Arts and Social Sciences Alfter.
The University of Bonn and the Alanus University of Applied Sciences are working together to make the themes and content of the university's clusters of excellence the subject of various artistic explorations. Under the heading of "science communication", the partners are pursuing the goal of using the means and possibilities of art to open up another medium of social dialogue and to achieve broad public awareness. For the Cluster of Excellence "immunosensation2" in the new building of the Biomedical Centre II at the University Hospital Bonn, the Alanus University of Applied Sciences, represented and responsible by Prof. Willem-Jan Beeren (Department of Architecture) and Prof. Paul Jonas Petry (Department of Fine Arts), will carry out several art and building projects developed for the location in the period from 2022 to 2023 and document them here to accompany the process:
WANDlabor
In einem einjährigen Prozess wird die zentrale Wand im Foyer des BMZ II, die den öffentlichen Bereich von den Laboren trennt, zum WANDlabor. Hier treffen Forschung und Kunst visuell und prozessual aufeinander: In regelmäßigen Residencies werden Künstler:innen aus dem Umfeld der Alanus Hochschule (Alumni, Lehrbeauftragte, Studierende) an einem sich verändernden Wandbild arbeiten und Motive aus der Forschung des Clusters aufgreifen, diese künstlerisch verarbeiten und in Beziehung zum Ort setzen.
Beteiligte Künstler:innen: aphenoah (Noah Kauertz, Oliver Hollatz), Simone Albert, Willem-Jan Beeren, Anne von Hoyningen-Huene, Paul Jonas Petry, Lukas Thein sowie Studierende der Fachbereiche Bildende Kunst und Architektur.

In the course of a year, the central wall in the foyer of BMZ II, which separates the public area from the laboratories, will become the WANDlabor. Here, research and art meet visually and processually: in regular residencies, artists from the Alanus University Network (alumni, lecturers, students) will work on a changing mural and take up motifs from the cluster's research, process them artistically and relate them to the location.
Participating artists: aphenoah (Noah Kauertz, Oliver Hollatz), Simone Albert, Willem-Jan Beeren, Anne von Hoyningen-Huene, Paul Jonas Petry, Lukas Thein and students from the departments of Fine Arts and Architecture.

TISCHgesellschaft
Nehmt Platz! Eine sozial-räumliche Tisch-Bank-Skulptur vor dem Gebäude lädt ein zum Gespräch und Austausch, zur gemeinsamen oder stillen Mittagspause, zum Verweilen unter den Bäumen. Die klare Formensprache schafft einen ästhetischen Kontrast zur organischen Natur, die Dialogkultur des Clusters wird sichtbar.

Take a seat! A socio-spatial table-bench sculpture in front of the building invites to conversation and exchange, to a joint or quiet lunch break, to linger under the trees. The clear formal language creates an aesthetic contrast to the organic nature, the dialogue culture of the cluster becomes visible.
