Art Therapy for Breast Cancer Patients in Oncological Rehabilitation
The planned study takes an innovative step by examining the specific effects of art therapy in a rehabilitative setting with breast cancer patients and determining the relationship between art-therapy-specific factors and corresponding predictors (well-being, quality of life, coping with illness, spirituality and religiosity, resilience) within the framework of a mixed-methods design. The proposed scale of the study (experimental group: n=300; control group: n=50) and the associated scientific validation of art therapy, still a very young field of research, is groundbreaking not only for an oncological setting, but also supports the scientific foundation of art-therapy interventions for other fields of application.
