Injection and Reflection - A Bilateral Art Project Between East and West

The German-Chinese art project “Injection and Reflection,” which took place in autumn 2018, brought the project partnership between Bonn and Chengdu to life.

In two project phases, students from the painting classes of Prof. Dr. Ulrika Eller-Rüter
(Alanus University) and Prof. Xiong Yu (Sichuan University Chengdu) met alternately in each other’s respective cultural environments and worked there for two weeks on a site-specific basis at sensitive points within the social context, collaborating in a kind of “research” through interventions and performances in public space.

The exhibitions entitled “Injection and Reflection” at the Künstlerforum Bonn in September 2018 and at the Museum of Sichuan University in Chengdu in October 2018 presented the results of the two project phases and placed them in dialogue with works that had already been created at both universities before the art project.
