Art-in-architecture projects at the new Biomedical Center II building of Bonn University Hospital as part of the cooperation between the University of Bonn and Alanus University of Arts and Social Sciences Alfter

The University of Bonn and Alanus University are working together to make the themes and content of the University’s Clusters of Excellence the subject of various artistic explorations. Under the heading of “science communication,” the partners aim to open up an additional medium for social dialogue through the means and possibilities of art and to achieve broad public visibility. For the Cluster of Excellence “immunosensation2” in the new Biomedical Center II building at Bonn University Hospital, Alanus University, represented and led by Prof. Willem-Jan Beeren (Department of Architecture) and Prof. Paul Jonas Petry (Department of Fine Arts), is carrying out several art-in-architecture projects developed specifically for the site between 2022 and 2024, which will be documented here alongside the process:

Under the heading of “science communication”, the partners are pursuing the goal of using the means and possibilities of art to open up another medium of social dialogue and to achieve broad public awareness. For the Cluster of Excellence “immunosensation2” in the new building of the Biomedical Centre II at the University Hospital Bonn, the Alanus University of Applied Sciences, represented and responsible by Prof. Willem-Jan Beeren (Department of Architecture) and Prof. Paul Jonas Petry (Department of Fine Arts), will carry out several art and building projects developed for the location in the period from 2022 to 2024 and document them here to accompany the process:
