The course is aimed at prospective crafts teachers as well as already practicing teachers who require further qualification. In both cases, a manual practical training completed with a journeyman’s examination (e.g. carpenter or joiner) is required. Further details regarding the requirements can be discussed with the course management.

The certificate in crafts at Waldorf schools can be obtained part-time within two years. The two years are divided into in-person phases (block weeks and weekends), self-study phases, and a four-week school internship.

(stone, clay, wood)

(copper, forging)

Successful participation in the course is certified by a university certificate detailing the examination results and workload. Provided the admission requirements are met, the certificate course qualifies participants to work as crafts teachers and enables them to obtain a teaching permit at Waldorf schools.

The course fees amount to €205 per month (€4,920 total over 24 months). Material costs or the machine license (mandatory for all, whether newly acquired or refreshed) are included in this amount.

The certificate course begins every two years in September (in odd-numbered calendar years). Registration is possible at any time.
