“performART” and “Business & Acting” will start in the fall semester of 2021. Interested applicants can apply now.

performART is a degree program unique in the German-speaking world that combines fine and performing arts, thereby doing justice to current developments in the arts. This personality-developing course of study also provides orientation and a foundation for diverse career paths, as has long been established and tested in the English-speaking world, for example through liberal arts programs. “We educate individuals who have the courage and conviction to view complex issues holistically. The rapid upheavals brought about by digitalization create an enormous need for artistic energy and meaning, regardless of whether we work directly as artists or shape social and economic processes artistically,” says Prof. René Harder, head of the performART degree program.

How can people be motivated, ideas be conveyed persuasively, and leadership be humane? “We are convinced that traditional university education places too much emphasis on analytical skills alone. The dual-subject bachelor’s degree program Business & Acting therefore teaches analytical, social, and creative competencies as well as vocal and non-verbal skills,” says Prof. Dr. Dirk Battenfeld, Dean of the Department of Business. For Prof. Dominik Schiefner, head of the Acting department, the combination of business and acting is “the key to authentic and humane leadership in business.”

Both degree programs are currently undergoing accreditation. However, interested applicants can apply now.
