Alanus University of Arts and Social Sciences will consolidate its university operations at the Bad Honnef campus in the future. The current locations in Alfter (Campus I – Johannishof and Campus II – Villestraße) will be gradually relocated to Bad Honnef starting in September 2027. The decision was made by the Emil Molt Foundation, the owner of the university, in coordination with the university senate.

With this step, the university is setting the course for long-term stability and sustainable future development. In the future, all degree programs as well as teaching, research, and artistic activities will be brought together at one shared location. This creates new opportunities for exchange between disciplines and strengthens collaboration in studies, teaching, research, and artistic practice.

For prospective students and current students, everything will initially remain as planned

Classes in the coming autumn and spring semesters will continue to take place unchanged at the two campuses in Alfter. The gradual relocation to Bad Honnef will begin in September 2027 and take place over a longer period. The university will continue to provide updates on the further timeline and the individual implementation steps.

The campus in Bad Honnef is an established university location that was previously used by IU International University of Applied Sciences and has already been operated by the Emil Molt Foundation since 1 October 2025. Modern teaching and work spaces, student residences directly on campus, and the compact campus structure with short walking distances create excellent conditions for bringing together studies, teaching, research, and artistic practice in one place in the future. The centrally located campus also offers space for encounters and exchange.
