Prof. Dr. Susann Kobus has been a music therapist at Essen University Hospital since 2016 in the
fields of neonatology and pediatrics, and a lecturer at the Faculty of Medicine of the
University of Duisburg-Essen and the School of Speech Therapy at the Educational Academy of
Essen University Hospital. She is a founding member of the Center for Artistic Therapies in Essen,
established in 2021, where she is responsible for project management of the artistic
therapies. Since 2023, Susann Kobus has been a board member of the Scientific
Professional Society for Artistic Therapies. She completed her studies at the University of Music
in Cologne (Diploma in Music Education) and at the University of Münster
(Master’s in Clinical Music Therapy and doctorate in Music Didactics, Psychology, and
Educational Sciences). In 2017, she completed her examination to become a licensed alternative practitioner
(psychotherapy).
