Student Council

Student Council (StuRa)

The Student Council is the highest decision-making body of the student body and is open to all students. It sees itself as a central point of contact for student concerns and matters and supports initiatives that contribute to improving student life in general. A special focus of the Student Council is on building community and promoting interdisciplinary exchange at Alanus University. To this end, it regularly organizes a university dialogue between students, university management, and staff, for example. The first-year weekend at the beginning of the autumn semester is also organized by the Student Council. In addition, the Student Council is in direct exchange with the university leadership through regular meetings with the Rectorate.

Ideally, the Student Council consists of elected representatives from each degree program at Alanus University. The election of the student representatives follows a majority voting system, with each degree program organizing the election independently.
Students may attend StuRa meetings even without being elected, present concerns from their degree program, and bring them up for discussion. However, only elected representatives may vote in elections within the Student Council.

During the lecture period, the Student Council meets every Monday at 7:30 p.m. in the main building on Campus II, in Seminar Room 10 or 12.

Concerns can be submitted to the Student Council by email: studierendenrat@alanus.edu
