Senate

In accordance with the University Regulations, the Senate is the central academic body of Alanus University of Arts and Social Sciences. It advises on and decides all fundamental academic matters of the university. These include, among other things, the election of the Rector and the Vice-Rectors, as well as the enactment and amendment of framework regulations and university regulations. The Senate consists of the following voting members: one elected professor from each department, one elected professor representing the Department of Waldorf Education, Inclusion and Interculturality, one elected professor from the Department of Philosophical and Aesthetic Education representing the Studium Generale, two elected representatives of the mid-level academic staff group (academic and artistic staff; lecturers for special tasks; student research assistants), two elected representatives of the group of other staff members, and three elected representatives of the student body. The members of the University Executive Board are advisory members of the Senate.

The Chair of the Senate is Prof. Dr. Sascha Liebermann, and the Deputy Chair is Elke Rath.
