Where am I & what do I do?

I have been working since January 2021 as an educational specialist at the early intervention center Haus des Kindes e.V. in Frankfurt am Main. The early intervention center works on an anthroposophical basis and is part of the educational-therapeutic association der hof. In my daily work, I organize support sessions, hold parent consultations, visit the children I support in their facilities as part of interdisciplinary networking, and write developmental reports. At the same time, I am studying for a Master’s degree in Inclusive Education and Elementary Education at JLU Gießen, which I expect to complete at the end of 2022.

How did I get here?

I got to know der hof and Haus des Kindes in autumn 2016 during my voluntary social year at a Waldorf kindergarten. At the time, I enjoyed offering one-to-one activities for children in everyday daycare who found the group setting more challenging, and I wanted to gather new ideas by observing at the early intervention center. I was immediately enthusiastic about the countless possibilities and the way each child was approached individually. After the end of my voluntary social year, I completed a nine-month internship and my introductory internship there before moving to Alfter in September 2017 with the firm intention of returning there one day, and beginning my Bachelor’s in Childhood Education full-time at Alanus.

How did my time at Alanus shape me?

My time at Alanus was an incredibly rewarding period not only for my personal development but also for my professional growth. The variety of methodological approaches I got to know there, and above all was able to try out through self-experience and practical phases, gave me a solid wealth of experience for early intervention.
