Galina Schneider and Nikolaus Wetscher completed the Master’s degree program in Art Education. In the video, they talk about their diverse work, share personal insights, and explain how their studies shaped them.
Galina completed her teaching traineeship at Clara-Schumann-Gymnasium in Bonn. Nikolaus, meanwhile, works as an arts and crafts teacher at a Waldorf school and in art education at the Max Ernst Museum. There, he leads workshops and tours for daycare centres and primary schools.
Galina looks back fondly on her studies: “The lecturers always encouraged us to explore new paths and to use our experiences from our own artistic practice in the classroom. Personally, I found the practical semester incredibly helpful in growing into the role of a teacher.”
Nikolaus Wetscher is glad to have studied at an art academy: “Alanus University offers excellent conditions for studying Art Education. We had many educational seminars, but above all, we created a great deal of art ourselves.”
