Public Lecture Series: Waldorf Early Childhood Education and Its Contexts. Perspectives from Academia and Practice.

Where does Waldorf early childhood education currently stand? In academic contexts, it receives far less attention than Waldorf school education. An inspiring event series for everyone interested in Waldorf education, featuring renowned experts from academia and practice.

What academic approaches already exist in this field? Where did Waldorf early childhood education originate, and what makes it distinctive compared with other approaches? What are its current challenges? And what does preschool Waldorf education look like from a psychological or sociological perspective?
These are the questions addressed by the public lecture series of the Department of Educational Science. Theory and practice of Waldorf education in crèches, kindergartens, and daycare will be placed in the context of history and the present day on Tuesday evenings from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m..

“I am very pleased that this autumn semester we will once again be hosting such a diverse public lecture series on preschool Waldorf education at Alanus University,” says Philipp Gelitz, who organizes and is responsible for the event series for the department. “Our students and guests can look forward to exciting perspectives from external experts and from within our own institution. With the option of participating online, we explicitly also want to reach guests who live farther away, and at the end of the lectures we will always allow enough time for questions and discussion.”
