To strengthen the Marketing & Public Relations Department, we are seeking a
Marketing Officer (m/f/d)
starting in October 2026, initially limited to two years
full-time (38.5 hours per week)
(as a parental leave replacement / with the option of extension)
The Marketing & Public Relations Department is responsible for the university’s analogue and digital university and student marketing (management of the website, social media channels, and print materials), the organization of university-wide events and trade fair appearances, as well as press and public relations work. The place of work is Alfter (near Bonn) and Bad Honnef.
For our team, we are looking for a creative, well-organized, and strong communicator who plans our social media communication strategically and implements it operationally, while independently conceptualizing and supporting events for student recruitment. You will develop editorial plans, create target-group-specific content, coordinate our social media channels, and also supervise our student assistants in the TikTok area. In addition, you will take on the planning, organization, and implementation of events such as study information days, fairs, and school visits, thus making a significant contribution to inspiring prospective students to choose our university.
Your responsibilities – what we expect from you:
• Planning, management, and further development of our social media channels (Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, LinkedIn, etc.), including editorial planning, content, and community management
• Creation of target-group-specific content for our social media channels (texts, photos, graphics), as well as support and coordination of our student assistants in the TikTok area
• Lead conceptualization, organization, and implementation of events for student recruitment (e.g. study information days, trial days, fairs, and school visits)
• Development and implementation of cross-channel marketing measures in student marketing (online and offline)
• Maintenance and updating of the CRM database, as well as support in the target-group-specific approach to prospective students
• Close collaboration with the departments and other internal interfaces
Your profile – what you bring:
• Successfully completed university degree, preferably in marketing, communication or media studies, public relations, business administration with a focus on marketing, or a comparable degree program
• Several years of professional experience in social media, marketing, or online communication – ideally in higher education, education, or the non-profit sector
• Experience in creating target-group-specific content as well as in community and channel management (e.g. Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, or Facebook)
• Strong organizational skills and experience in planning and implementing events
• A structured, careful, independent approach and way of thinking and working
• Creativity, resourcefulness, and initiative
• Confident use of standard Microsoft Office applications, content management systems (especially WordPress), and image editing programs goes without saying for you.
• Business-fluent German language skills (at least C1), both written and spoken
• Enjoyment of working in a team and flexibility, as well as strong communication skills, also with regard to gender issues, inclusion, and diversity
• Knowledge of working with WordPress desirable
