Exchange of experience between student and alumna

The mentoring program of the alumni association in the Department of Business supports development.

With the aim of promoting networking between students and alumni, the alumni association of the Department of Business launched a mentoring program last year.

Caroline von Friesen is currently studying Sustainable Management in her second semester Sustainable Management at Alanus University and benefits greatly from the regular exchange with alumna Anna Henrichsen. “For me, it is a valuable experience to gain an outlook during my studies on the paths I could take after graduation,” reports Caroline, who benefits greatly from the professional experience of her mentor Anna. Anna studied Business Administration – Rethinking Business at Alanus University with the practical partner Service-Bund and, after successfully completing her degree, worked at Service-Bund for two years. Anna is currently completing a master’s degree program in Entrepreneurship and Management at the University of Lichtenstein. Anna values the connection to her former university and is pleased to be able to pass on her experiences to a young student. “Anna tells me that she experienced studying at Alanus University as very enriching and formative. She gives me tips on elective subjects and answers my questions about the timetable. And I keep her informed about developments and news at Alanus University. The exchange is very inspiring.”

The mentoring program enables students to form a tandem with an alumnus or alumna throughout their studies, exchange expertise, and reflect on their own actions. There are currently around 20 tandems that meet online regularly, benefiting from different perspectives and expanding their network.
The mentoring program is also intended to be offered to prospective students in the business degree programs. Alumni who would like to become mentors are welcome to contact the alumni association.
