This summer, the Communication and Marketing Department of Alanus University, in cooperation with the Friends' Association of Alanus University, is announcing an extraordinary slam.

If you are a student at Alanus University and are conducting research or working artistically – analog or digital – and believe that a broad audience should learn about your work, then seize the opportunity and take part in our digital Science and Artist Slam. The Friends’ Association of Alanus University e. V. is awarding up to five scholarships with a total value of 6,000 euros.

Apply with a slam video clip related to the topic of the pandemic, the digital future, or “what you learned in this extraordinary spring semester.” Whether business, painting, sculpture, art therapy, eurythmy, acting, education, architecture, or philosophy: How has the coronavirus pandemic changed your world, or what challenges is the virus (still) presenting you with? Your participation in the slam gives you the opportunity to present your ideas, seminar contributions, or research approaches artistically or verbally in the digital space to a virtual audience.

You also have the chance to win a scholarship: in that case, you will receive 200 euros per month for one semester! The author of the most popular submission (number of views on Alanus University’s social media channels) also has the chance to be recognized as the overall winner.

The submitted entries must be written or created by you!
The jury alone decides on the awarding of the prizes. It consists of one representative each from the Communication and Marketing Department, the Friends’ Association of Alanus University, and a student of Alanus University. The jury makes its decision after thorough discussion by vote and majority decision. The jury’s decision and evaluation are final.

WHO CAN TAKE PART?
Adult students and doctoral candidates of Alanus University of Arts and Social Sciences are eligible to participate.
