A strong voice for sustainability in Germany

BNW Managing Director Dr. Katharina Reuter becomes an honorary professor at Alanus University.

Alanus University of Arts and Social Sciences is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Katharina Reuter as honorary professor of Strategic Sustainability and Corporate Political Responsibility, effective 12 March 2025. Dr. Reuter, Managing Director of the German Association for Sustainable Business (BNW e.V.), will give her public inaugural lecture on 13 March 2025 at 11:30 a.m. on the topic “Planetary boundaries and social responsibility: Corporate strategies for a sustainable economy” at Campus II – Villestraße. Over many years, Dr. Katharina Reuter has advanced and shaped the socio-ecological transformation of the German economy. Under her leadership, the BNW has become a relevant business association in political Berlin. “Katharina Reuter is one of the most important voices for sustainability in business in Germany,” emphasizes Prof. Dr. Susanne Blazejewski from the School of Business at Alanus University. “Her extensive practice-oriented expertise will greatly enrich our teaching and research.”

Before joining BNW, Katharina Reuter was Managing Director of Klima-Allianz Deutschland and the GLS Zukunftsstiftung Landwirtschaft. She co-founded several associations and initiatives, including the European Sustainable Business Federation. Her expertise is recognized in advisory boards and political bodies; she serves as Deputy Chair of the Board of Trustees of the German Federal Environmental Foundation (DBU). She was awarded the Federal Cross of Merit for her commitment.
