Infected – by Fire, Water, Air, Light and Landscape – Workshop Aesthetics
Images of storm surges, infernos, devastation caused by hurricanes and tornadoes, earthquakes, etc. go viral and have become embedded in the collective memory. In view of global crises, a large number of contemporary artists engage with the elemental and create dystopian and utopian visions of the world. The course is devoted to these and many other aspects, also with regard to contemporary art discourse.

Entanglements. Philosophical Reading Course on New Materialism
“New Materialism” understands reality as a dynamic web of relationships in which it is not only human beings who act. Matter has a life of its own – and is therefore more than ‘mere’ matter, raw material or object. In general, boundaries become permeable, allowing nature, technology and art to enter into exciting, fruitful and challenging entanglements. In the seminar session on 26 May, we will presumably discuss a text by the philosopher Rosi Braidotti.
