The renowned Waldorf expert has had a lasting impact on the profile of Waldorf education worldwide.
Christof Wiechert is an internationally renowned Waldorf educator who has published numerous works and has supported the development of Waldorf education through lectures and seminars in countries across the globe. He was a Waldorf class teacher in The Hague for many years before being appointed head of the Pedagogical Section at the Goetheanum in 2001. For more than 10 years in this position, he played a decisive role in shaping the profile of Waldorf education worldwide. Openness to the world, a willingness to engage in dialogue, and an uncompromising commitment to questions of educational quality are his core concerns.
Since 2010, he has been a regular guest lecturer in the Master’s degree program in Education/Waldorf Education at Alanus University and is highly valued by students. He is also involved in numerous research activities.
On the occasion of a joint trip to China with Prof. Dr. Jost Schieren, he was awarded the title of Senior Research Fellow in the Department of Educational Sciences at Alanus University by the Dean, Prof. Dr. Jost Schieren, on behalf of the Rector of Alanus University, Prof. Dr. Hans-Joachim Pieper, in Chengdu at “The 8th Leadership Conference of 2024” on January 24, 2024 (also the celebration of his 79th birthday).
Christof Wiechert is thus a member of the faculty of educational sciences, with which he remains closely connected through further joint research projects and teaching activities.
