New dual leadership at the Mannheim campus

The Mannheim Study Center of Alanus University appoints a new academic leadership team.

Starting on October 2, 2024, the Mannheim Study Center will be jointly led by Iru Mun, Professor of Music Education, and Dr. Johannes Wagemann, Professor of Consciousness Studies. Their deputies will be Dr. Christiane Drechsler, Professor of Curative Education, and Dr. Christian Tewes, Professor of Philosophy. Their predecessor, Prof. Dr. Thomas Maschke, assumed the office of Rector of Alanus University of Arts and Social Sciences on September 1, 2024.

The new academic leadership of the Study Center is part of the Department of Educational Sciences. Its goals include promoting research, staff development, and strengthening the university’s public profile. Michael Schröder, Chancellor and Managing Director of Alanus University, congratulated the new leadership team and paid tribute to the work of the outgoing institute director, Prof. Dr. Thomas Maschke: “The past four years have been marked by challenges such as the coronavirus crisis and the integration of the university campuses in Mannheim and Alfter. Thomas Maschke’s forward-looking determination was crucial to the positive development of the university as a whole, which today is also thanks to him in new, more stable waters,” said Michael Schröder.
