27 Nov 2024 - The Courtyard Theatre in Alfter, the in-house theatre venue of Alanus University of Arts and Social Sciences, is back! In December and January, students from the Acting department will once again bring exciting productions to the stage.
The Courtyard Theatre in Alfter, the in-house theatre venue of Alanus University of Arts and Social Sciences, is back! In December and January, students from the Acting department will once again bring exciting productions to the stage.
Winter is theatre season. This semester, students from the performART and Business & Acting degree programmes are presenting a selected programme. From productions of classical theatre literature to philosophically complex original works, there is something for everyone interested in theatre and performance. The audience can immerse itself in the work of the bachelor’s students and experience up close how creatively, vibrantly, and excitingly the next generation performs.
In the play “Qualia Problem? An Experiment with ‘Philosophical Zombies’”, the students explore what it means to be completely free of biography, relationships, prejudices, and moral concepts. Within an experimental setting, they investigate how people without a past behave socially and whether and how the question of freedom arises. It is well worth a visit!
