The new degree program in the Department of Economics will launch in the fall semester 2025.
3 become 1: Starting next fall semester, the innovative degree program “Sustainable Business Administration & Creative Enterprise Design” at Alanus University of Arts and Social Sciences in Alfter near Bonn will integrate the Department of Economics’ previous bachelor’s degree programs. Tailored to the demands of a changing economy, the new program focuses on innovation, creativity, and sustainability.
The world is changing: climate change, social inequality, and economic crises demand new and viable answers for the future. Companies face the challenge of reconciling economic success with social and ecological responsibility. Accordingly, there is a need for sustainable business administration that provides creative approaches, interdisciplinary perspectives, and the ability to develop new solutions.
This is precisely the need addressed by the newly redesigned degree program “Sustainable Business Administration & Creative Enterprise Design” at Alanus University. Here, business administration is combined with sustainability management, art, and creative methods. After all, what is needed is not only professionals trained in business administration, but also people who truly rethink and reshape economic processes—with innovative strength, artistic openness, and strategic insight into sustainable business models and operational processes.
In addition to the conventional full-time bachelor’s program, students can also choose to study with practice partners and become actively involved in companies such as Alnatura, GLS Bank, or Fairtrade Germany e. V. while still studying. A particular benefit of this study model: students who study with a practice partner benefit not only from professional experience, but also from financial support from the practice partner. In other words, the partner company covers the students’ tuition fees. In this way, Alanus University consciously fosters exchange and collaboration with a large network of sustainable companies and contributes to shaping a sustainable economy.
