Recognition for Outstanding Artistic Work

The winners of the Rundgang Awards 2025 at Alanus University have been announced

On Thursday, 19 June 2025, the ceremonial opening of this year’s “Rundgang Fine Arts” was celebrated at Alanus University of Arts and Social Sciences in Alfter near Bonn. In the presence of Rector Prof. Dr. Thomas Maschke, the traditional presentation of sunflowers to all graduates of the Fine Arts, Art-Education-Therapy and performART degree programmes took place.

The highlight of the event was the presentation of the Rundgang Awards to outstanding students. Particularly impressive were Camille Turrian, a bachelor’s student in Art-Education-Therapy, with her delicate work made of ink, water and salt, as well as Karoline Farina Bürger, a bachelor’s student in Fine Arts, with her series “Cunt Aesthetics”, which addresses the political dimension of hair. Elisa Gabelli, a master’s student in Fine Arts, was awarded the Rundgang Prize in cooperation with the General-Anzeiger Bonn for her impressive wall-filling paper-cut artwork. Thomas Kliemann, Head of the Arts Section at General-Anzeiger, presented the award in person.

The major annual exhibition, which takes place every summer, remains open until Sunday, 22 June, and offers a diverse insight into the current young art scene. Visitors can discover works ranging from painting and installations to AI-generated visual worlds and performances. The studios and exhibition spaces are freely accessible, and there is an opportunity to talk to the artists and enjoy the panoramic view from the terrace of the Alanus Café. Admission is free!
