Bachelor of Arts

The Bachelor’s programme in curative education is offered at the Institute for Waldorf Education, Inclusion and Intercultural Studies in Mannheim.


The individual and developmentally appropriate guidance and support of persons with special needs and consideration of social space for the requirements of people with disabilities form the dual focus of the Bachelor’s programme. The programme also deals with topics in anthropology, social law and scientific and epistemological theory. The courses are divided into the following topics: inclusion, conditions of life in heterogeneous groups, possibilities and forms of social learning, organisational conditions of independent institutions, topics in medicine, psychology and sociology, social law, counselling and communication, and anthroposophical curative education.

Admission Requirements

General (Abitur) or subject-speicific higher education entrance qualification or a completed vocational training (under certain conditions) and successful passing of the entrance exam or proof of an equivalent recognised educational background as well as practical experience in the field of care for persons with disabilities and/or child and youth welfare.

Career Prospects

The programme in curative education qualifies students for positions in caring for persons with disabilities and youth welfare, therapy work, or middle management roles in organisations within a curative educational and social therapeutic context.
