Bachelor of Arts
We approach the study of architecture as a holistic professional and personal education. Small groups with a maximum of 25 students provide plenty of room for development. Our studio house offers a pleasant atmosphere for learning and working, while proximity to the lecturers facilitates intensive support. Our students regularly deal with concrete projects that are brought to the Department of Architecture from actual practice – by cities, municipalities or associations. Overall, the Bachelor's programme offers an intensive examination of the fundamentals of architecture as the art of construction and engineering. We offer you:
- Your own workstation
- Small group learning
- Intensive support from lecturers with professional experience in the field
- Project-based work
- A laboratory for experimenting with space
- A state-recognised degree
The course starts in September each year. Class observation is possible at any time with prior notification. Watch the video on our architecture programme!

Bachelor’s Project and Degree:
The programme is completed with a Bachelor’s project, which usually consists of a draft/design and is presented in a university colloquium that is open to the public. Upon successful completion of the programme, the academic title Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) is awarded. The degree qualifies the student for admission to various Master's programmes. Professional qualification, in accordance with the regulations of chamber law, is generally possible with a Master's degree in the field of architecture. More information is available on the website of the Federal Chamber of Architects.
The degree is state-recognised. The programme was accredited by the AHPGS Freiburg in August 2016 for a period of 5 years.
For admission to the Bachelor’s programme at Alanus University, the following requirements must be fulfilled:
