Business Administration – Shaping a Sustainable Economy

Master of Arts (part-time in-service possible)

Proceed unconventionally, give free rein to your ideas and think outside the box. Most people don’t learn this in conventional business administration programmes. But more and more companies are seeking employees and managers who are flexible creative thinkers, who are innovative and who can develop and implement new concepts for socially responsible business.

This is why the state-recognised Master’s Programme Business Administration at Alanus University relies on a holistic approach. Expertise in business management is combined with artistic methods, philosophy and ethics, and practical examples are integrated into the course content. The Master's programme provides you with tools that you can apply in practice. The focus is on professional qualification, and personal development plays an important role.

The Master's programme can be completed within 2 years. The modular structure of the course also enables studies to be completed part-time in-service parallel to your job. Another advantage: you learn in small groups under the guidance and support of our lecturers.

The Department of Business Management is on Facebook and Instagram.

Special Features

The combination of business administration with modules from art and the Studium Generale is unique. You develop personally and socially through practical exercises in art. You learn to train your perception and to become involved in the economy creatively and with the commitment to help solve social challenges.

Students from all disciplines learn together in the Studium Generale, a supplementary cultural studies programme that is an essential part of all degree courses at Alanus University. The lectures and seminars encourage students to reflect upon cultural and philosophical issues and thus find and form their own position in the social context.

Students go beyond mastering technical requirements and prepare themselves for responsible positions in business through this holistic learning approach.

Mode of Study

The Master's programme can be completed in 4 semesters of standard study. Employed students can complete their studies in 6 semesters due to the modular scheduling of study contents.

In the 4 to 6 attendance semesters, the student must plan to spend 3 to 5 modules (each between 3 and 5 days) per semester on-site at Alanus University. Added to this on average are about 4 hours of preparatory and follow-up work each week per module. The intensity of the programme can be individually adjusted according to the student’s own goals and possibilities.

Students work intensively in small groups in the 3 to 5-day attendance phases and are individually guided and supported by experienced lecturers in theory and practice.
