Alfter is situated approximately five kilometers from Bonn, with good public transport links to Bonn and Cologne. There is a wide range of student accommodation in Alfter itself.

Flats and shared flats in Alfter and the nearby area are advertised in the Bonn local papers, such as the General-Anzeiger Bonn, Schaufenster and Annonce. Bonn Student Services' Halls of Residence
Alanus University students can also apply for a place in a Bonn Student Services' Hall of Residence. The application deadline for the spring semester is the 20th February, for the autumn semester it is the 20th August. The Bonn Student Services carry out the administration. An application form and further information are available at

Other Halls of Residence
There are numerous student halls of residence in Bonn, owned privately or by the church, which should be applied for directly. Usually, the same application deadlines as for the Bonn Student Services apply. Addresses of the halls of residence are available from our Admissions Office or our International Office.
The Alanus University Admissions Office will also assist you in looking for a suitable room or flat. You are welcome to send a notice with your accommodation requirements to the Admissions Office, who will then put it on the notice board for you.

During your first few days in Bonn, if you haven’t yet found permanent accommodation, you can stay at a hotel, or – even better – in the youth hostel, which is considerably less expensive. You are, however, only allowed to stay at the youth hostel for a few days.
